The WHY of the trip - I define each decade (since 40) in a special way: 40 was Mt. Whitney, 50 was buying this house (her Palm Desert home), 60 was my yin yang tattoo, 70 is my version of a Rt. 66 roadtrip in my van instead of the Corvet!! Mt. Rushmore & Niagra Falls have been longtime dreams of mine. And because my mom & dad made their transitions in their 70th year of life.
I talked with mom around 10:30 am this morning. She had made it to Las Vegas and found her first diner and had a gyro for breakfast. Go mom!

Oh Larry, your a hoot! Anyway, I'm so excited about this blog! I didn't know we were going to get to go with Auntie Ellen on her big adventure! Thanks for keeping us posted Kelli!
